Bengal
Assertive, intelligent, friendly.
Average Weight : 4-6 kgs

The Bengal was originally bred in Arizona in the 1980's, with the objective of finding an animal which looked like a spotted wildcat but had the friendly manner of a house cat. Descendants of crosses between Asian Leopard Cats and domestic cats were used in the breeding program.

While many people consider the Bengal to be a wild cat who only pretends to be domesticated, the breed is actually very sweet and loving. The Bengal attaches closely to his people and is a loyal friend. As a large, athletic cat, the Bengal needs to run, jump, and romp to be contented. He is a curious and alert cat.

The Bengal truly does remind you of a wild cat in appearance. He is a large cat and is heavily muscled. When you see the cat, everything about him appears large, massive, and thick. The only thing that is moderate is the medium leg length. The Bengal has a large, triangular shaped head. He has a thick neck, large feet, and a thick tail. The spots on the coat should not line up in rows, but should appear randomly placed. The coat of the Bengal is short and may even feel a little rough naturally.

The Bengal absolutely must have the ability to run and exercise freely. He is easy to keep groomed and enjoys its grooming.
