Toys For Cats Disclaimer
Petalia Resident Vet
Cats love to play! When you are away from home you need to provide your cat with stimulation to prevent it from getting bored and destroying your furniture. There is a wide range of toys available for your cat, and for you!

Toys with catnip   Top
Catnip is a plant that many cats seem to like and respond to with playful behaviour. Not all cats have a reaction and kittens don’t seem to be affected at all. There are many toys available that have catnip inside or you can insert catnip-coated material. Catnip does become less potent over time.

Fur mice and rats   Top
These toys are made from cardboard and covered with fur to resemble mice and rats. Some are squeaky, some are mechanical and some come on string. All can provide lots of fun for your cat to toss and bat about the house.

Swing toys   Top
Cats love to swat at swinging and hanging toys. There is a large variety available, including fuzzy, furry, rope and nylon toys on string or elastic that you can hang around the house or on your cat’s scratching post. You can also dangle or drag them around for your cat to chase.

Dangling toys   Top
Cats love to pounce! Toys on wands or sticks are great way for owners to play with their cats. Furry toys or feathers on the end of a wand can be waved in front of your cat for them to try to catch. They can also be upright on springs for your cat to swat.

Mechanical toys   Top
Cats enjoy chasing wind up mice or battery operated toys. Watch them go crazy! They also love to chase light dots produced by a laser pointer.

Balls and critters   Top
The choice is endless. There are wire play balls, balls and critters that have bells or squeak, balls that wobble, balls and creatures covered in sisal or material for scratching, ping-pong balls, foam balls, balls on tracks and soft cuddly critters.

Provide your cat with a wide variety of toys, as well as a scratching post, and your cat will be entertained for hours and your house scratch-free!
